Sibylle Janert, MA , is a psychologist, Autism Specialist, author of ‘Reaching the Young Autistic Child’ (FAB 2000) and a licensed NAS EarlyBird trainer. She works as a Child Development Mentor with families of an autistic child at the Bethany Project, the family's home or the child's school.
Sibylle understands autism as an early developmental disorder with much potential for change, the earlier the better because 'the brain doesn't wait'. Her psycho-educational approach focuses on helping parents as the most important people in every child's life to encourage communication and relationship-building with their child, to understand the puzzling autistic behaviours and how to help the child to make the most of his/her developmental potential.
With over 15 years of hands-on experience with children with autistic behaviours and their parents, as well as with babies and under 5s, she runs Groups, workshops, consultations and training sessions for parents/carers, schools and other organisations, e.g. Phoenix School, APASENTH, Barnardos, Spark Centre, Autism Service/LEA-Oxford, SureStart, as well as wider afield in Germany, Scotland, Africa, India and Bangladesh.
